become a founding Supporter

The Founding 50 campaign aims to raise seed money to start the new children’s museum through 50 gifts from area individuals, businesses, foundations, and service organizations. The first 50 donors to submit a qualifying donation will be designated as a Founding 50 supporter.

All proceeds will allow for important startup activities such as site selection, building design, exhibit development, marketing, and community engagement.

Founding 50 supporters will receive permanent recognition at the museum in celebration of their role in its founding. Additionally, they will be recognized here on our website, through social media, and in our annual report.

Give Through Your IRA

If you’re 70½ or older with a traditional IRA, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)—also called an IRA charitable rollover. A QCD lets you give directly from your IRA to a charity, reducing your taxable income. (Only IRAs qualify; 401(k)s and other plans do not.)

QCDs are always tax-free, whether or not you itemize, and in 2025, you can give up to $105,000 per year. It’s a powerful way to support our mission without increasing your taxable income.

Benefits of an IRA Gift

– Your gift counts toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) (if applicable).

– You avoid paying income tax on the amount transferred.

– You make a meaningful impact, helping bring the precious gift of play close to home for our community’s kids and families.

How to make your IRA gift:

1) Contact your IRA administrator and request a qualified charitable distribution to:

Grand Haven Children’s Museum
EIN: 88-4106720
PO Box 572
Grand Haven, MI 49417

2) Ask your IRA administrator to include your name and address so we can properly credit and thank you.

3) Let us know your gift is on the way! We’re happy to answer questions or provide the exact language your IRA custodian may need.

Give Through Your Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)

Supporting the Grand Haven Children’s Museum with a gift from your donor-advised fund (DAF) is simple and impactful.

A DAF allows you to combine the tax benefits of giving with the flexibility to support the causes you care about most. If you have a DAF with Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or another provider, you can recommend a gift directly to the Grand Haven Children’s Museum.

How to make a gift from your DAF:

1) Log in to your donor-advised fund account.

2) Search for: Grand Haven Children’s Museum (Tax ID/EIN: 88-4106720).

3) Designate your gift to support the Grand Haven Children’s Museum.

4) Submit your recommendation.

Your generosity helps bring hands-on learning, play, and creativity to children and families close to home.

For assistance or to notify us of your gift, contact:

Stocks & Securities

Donate stock directly and make your gift go further—avoid capital gains tax and, for stock held over a year, generally deduct the full fair market value.

Your generosity can make a bigger impact without using cash. You can direct your gift to a specific program or to the museum’s general fund, helping children and families enjoy hands-on learning and play—close to home.

To make a stock gift, please contact us directly. We’ll provide all the information your financial advisor needs to complete the transfer and ensure your gift is applied exactly as you intend.
